The Black Mountains make the most beautiful backdrop to the garden which is situated just 8 miles from the restaurant. Red kites fly overhead while we harvest the weeks salad and vegetables, during the summer months there is an abundance of soft fruits and autumn always sees a glut of apples.
We decide months in advance what we want to see in the restaurant throughout the year with lots of planning during in the winter to ensure full beds and plenty of variety.
Our no-dig garden is pesticide free which helps to encourage wild life into the space. Using organic heritage seeds from Welsh suppliers Real Seeds gives plants a great head start as they have been grown to cope with the unpredictable Welsh weather. Perennial vegetables are found throughout the space and we only use homemade or peat free compost.
